Possible Center Console Upgrade?
Has anybody looked into whether we can sawp out the entire center section of the 2001-2004 C's to retrofit the car with the new improved 2005 features, e.g., DVD navigation?
From the looks of the car it seems that we would need to change the center section from the ashtray up to the center vents.
DVD comand would be great.

Can't be done. New cars use MOST protocol whereas older model use DB2. For more indepth discussion please this forum. I'm too lazy.

Wouldn't it be a hell of a lot easier (and have more functionality) just to install a new aftermarket dvd navi?

Yup, that's why I'm only upgrading the HVAC and upper controls. Installing an Avic instead of the command.

Which models are you comparing? I have the Z120BT. I don't think I would put a clarion or JVC into an MB, just doesn't sound right.
