New wheels and a story
Just wanted to share some pics and a story.
As some of you may know, I had some problems with my stock rims.
Picture 1
Picture 2
So when I was at the dealer, I casually asked what I could do to help it and prevent future damage. The service manager looked at the rims and was shocked by it and said it shouldn't happen and he'll replace them under warranty. After looking at the 4 rims and seeing it on all of them he said they'd replace all 4. Then he goes, "But, do you really like those rims?" I asked why and he goes "We just got in some nice ones on the newer C Class." He showed me one in the service bay and I liked what I saw. Then he remember that they were 17" compared to my 16" and said oh, but you'd have to buy new tires. Well, sice mine were basically bald anyway I said no prob. So after ordering some Goodyear F1 DS3's from Luke and having them drop shipped to the dealer they called yesterday and informed me they were in.
So after showing up today to get them installed (Free mounting and balancing and stems, I had to cover the $14 disposal fee ).
Here they are
Bad Humidity today, sorry bout the quality.

The only thing better than the Sports Sedan rims are when they are polished My polished rims can be seen on mbklasse.com
You made out great.
Let all of us know how you like the Goodyear F1 DS3's.
Those are the ones I wanted, but my Sports Sedan rims came with the Pilots. You can go as wide as 255 in the rears. I go through a set of tires a year (18,000 miles) so next time will get the Goodyear F1 DS3's

You got hooked up. I have the 16" 5 spoke sport wheels on my 2001, but the new 17" are the shiznat .
Does anyone know much would it cost me to upgrade to the new OEM 17" rims (excluding the cost of new tires)?
I was looking at getting 18" BBS RAs, but those are $$$

As far as tires, I got the F1 DS3's from tirerack.com (Thanks Luke) for $709 with shipping.
Because you are purchasing the new wheels you'd probably have to cover new stems ($36) and mounting and balancing.

And he still hasn't fixed my driver seat not properly returning after the key is put in. Now the steering wheel isn't returning to the correct position.
Oh well, my car just needs some more attention.

$380 for a 17" oem wheel is pricey. For that price I can get some decent aftermarket rims. I'm leaning towards getting 18x8.5 BBS RA rims for $300 each from tirerack, but I don't know much about rims and what to look for.
Anyone know of a place to get reviews on rims?

PRICE OF WHEELS
The 2004 rim catalog shows those wheels at $238 a piece, which would appear to be consistent with the $992 price for a set of four shown on the "accessories" portion of "build your c class" on the mbusa website.
That's a very decent price, in my opinion.
