Hey,
I picked up my 05 yesterday from the dealership in Austin, and also was able to use the Cspot coupon on the car. Now my brother also wants a 05. Here is all I can say about the 05 model. WoW WoW WoW. This car actually looks like a Mercedes now. Since I have had an 01 C240 and 02 BMW330CI here is my comparison.
05 C230 vs 01 C240
Noise Level: 10-20% less
Interior: 90 % better
Handling: 20% better ( I guess the springs and the wider track on the tires)
05 C230 vs 05 02 330CI
Noise Level: 80-90% less
Interior: 100% better
Handling: 80-85% handling to that of a BMW
Give those above number I don’t know why you would choose a BMW, well that is just my opinion.
I seriously hope this car holds up in the quality of the build and other things.
Also the best savings I heard on an 04 were 4000 of MSRP, but that does not mean all the dealers will offer it at that price. I got about 750 of MSRP on my car, but I really did not bargain to much considering I got a great deal on my trade in. So on an average case the savings between an 05 vs. 04 are about 2000. I believe that number is not high enough to pick up an 04. BTW also the 05 don’t have free service. That might be only one hold back to certain people. So go ahead an pick up an 05, screw the 04's. That is just my personal opinion.

How do you like the mirror blinkers? The ones I saw where on a preprepped car and looked like.... Looked like a strip of chrome with holes at strategic places for the tips of the LEDs to show thru.

Looked at the '05 this morning. The high points are the C32 bumpers and new radio that is at least as good as the Audio 10. The low points are the exposed and not so cool cup holder, the fugly wheels on the non sport models and the silly chrome touches throughout the interior like on the glovebox door latch and around the gauges, sort of '70s American, yet they removed the chrome on the door handles. What's up in the air for me is the grooved aluminum panels on the C230, don't know how easy it will be to clean but it looks good, also the silver buttons on the steering wheel, while an improvement in functionality, they don't look good.. The switches are smaller and more flush, look ok but not a huge improvement over stock. Also, $1,800 for a sunroof, that has to be a record for a car in this bracket. At least provide the panorama roof like the E's and C-Coupes.
The C55 was more interesting as it had the headlights from the C-Coupe and a new, more aggresive bumper to differentate it from the C230 sedan. It's also 4" longer according to the salesdude and comes with 18" wheels.
The coupe has a different bumper but not the AMG bumper like on the sedan and the grill is perforated.
As for it being quieter than your 3-4 year old car, duhhh, of course it will be, it's 3-4 years old and the rubber seals don't seal as good as new, combine that with a broken in muffler I would expect the new one to be more than 10% quieter. Also didn't realize Beemers where that much noisier, I do know they have more wind and road noise than MB but I don't know if I would say it's twice as loud.

Well I am used to Lexus quite , the W203's did a good job in noise insulation. It does not come any where near a LS430 but quite comparable to a GS300, but BMW's want you to hear the engine noise to give you the feel. You can hear the sound of the engine pretty loundly at even 80mph, where the road noise or wind noise should be more than the engine noise. Probably one more thing contributing to the noise were the 18" M wheels with high performance tires. Well the BMW fans would think I am crazy complaning about the noise.
The side indicators are pretty nice, I thought they look like the new E class side indicators correct me if I am wrong.
On my 01 C240 it had the Bose sound system , and BMW 330CI comes with the HK one. The new premium sound is better than the both. I cannot comment on how Audio 10 sounds infront of the new Logic 7, since I did not listen to the Audi 10 before.

one more thing, the guage lighting in the night looks great, very pleasent on the eyes. It kind of has a bluish white color to it with emphasis on the white. The lighting for the other controls are of little lighter color than the 04's.

actually if you think about it if "mj50" is indeed a girl posted in the pic, then got to say she is the first girl that i know who loves car so much becuase mj50's c240 has so many mods.
