i just bought a super mint s203 c180 from 2007 as my new dd. Great car but its lacking in the sound department so im planing on upgradeing it. I have the stock aps/audio 20. My needs are the following, an android head unit so i csn stream spotify and use google maps, i would like to use the steering wheel control and phone function. I would like everything to look like stock. Im mostly lisening on rock and other "clam" stuff so super heavy base is not needed. Thats all but im a noob when it comes to sound so i need some help on what to buy.

do i need to buy anything else and will this stuff fill my needs? Do i need any adapters or do i need a amp?

 

You are looking at buying a DVD player. Is that what you want? You can buy a much cheaper HU that will prob do the same rated power but will have better output voltage for the preouts and have android controls. Also no head unit will ever power those aftermarket speakers the way an amp would. You will need adapters for the plugs that are in your stock wiring to fit to those speakers. You will also have to make sure that the depth of those speakers will fit in the doors w/o mods. You will most likely need the canbus connectors as well to close the fiber optic loop as you won't be able to connect the plugs that go into the old radio to the new one. Which means you will also need a plug adapter for the HU unit wires as well. You might run into trouble with using the existing wiring and a aftermarket HU tho. If you will be using an amp, I would recommend running separate wires. Trying to use the stock wiring with an amp will be a fail. It's quite a task to change stereos in an MB. More than I ever have experienced with other vehicles. I guess that's why most people don't even try it.

i thought the c class had koaxis and not fiber optic.

adapters and spacers comes with the speakers. Its sold as speakers for the w203.

as for cambus, it should come wires with the hu. Otherwise something like this?

Everything is sold as plug in and play with stock wires.

if i need an amp, what kind of amp do i need?

This is a good decision. No need to waste money on stuff. An aftermarket HU will surely have more power than stick but it's not much more. Waaaay better features tho.
Connecting the amp is pretty straight forward. Run the power, ground, remote, and rcas.

 

Using an amp for bass...easy. Using it for door speakers with existing wiring...good luck!!!
