the correct badge position

i was in an accident a couple weeks back. the collision center needed to fix the trunk and as a result debadged the car. well, the old badge didn't stick well and the center reordered badges, but turned out to be CLK240 badge. well, i was a little pissed, but they offered to take off the badges and get it right. so they took off the LK240 (which became worthless as a they are less sticky) and left the C for remembering the position for badge replacement. to me, the C seems to be off. i was wondering if anyone had the exact position for the badge. i need to make the repairs perfect. btw, a D-ring for the net sill in the trunk is missing (which is located under the carpet and goes up to hold the net) and if anyone has that part number, plz post!

Badges? BADGES??? We dun neeed no steeeenking badges!

Your "before" pic looks like about 3/8" spacing between the characters...and about a half inch in from the trunk edge....

I measured my coupe...and it's 1cm on center for the C230 badge
My E320 is more like a 1/2"...looks like a damn billboard

pookie,
Go Badge Less,
I saw that look on a S class the other day and it looked sweet! I almost went right home and tour off my letters.

They make a template for positioning the emblems, it even has a part number.

i'm thinking this friday when i see my mechanic, i'll tell him not to stick the badge on. i'll just put it on if i sell the car or pass the car along to my sister (she's 13). i want him to get started immediately on fixing the back seat (removed slightly during fixing of the side back panel) and my radio (from the removal of the rear window) to remove the trunk.

a template would be nice. i never knew about it and if i change my mind again i'll tell him to get a template to install it. part number?
