the RDS feature is the only thing i miss. i wish i got the euro COMAND since i heard it has RDS. other than that i dont miss it. i think the sound is just as good on my COMAND that it was on the audio 10. don't get me wrong, i love my COMAND, i just miss the RDS. ill have something like it with the sirius.

Whats is RDS? Is it for sound output?
Is it like Echo in BMW which give you sound like in hall?

And Dose the comand have this feature RDS?

RDS is a systems that displays a radio stations call letters, name, etc. The radio station sends a different signal in addition to its regular program that the radio sees. This in turn then allows the display on the radio to show what the radio station is broadcasting as an identifier instead of just displaying the frequency. For example: SWF3 instead of 102.5.

The Audio 10 was one of the best mods I installed. When I got my car with the sorry sounding cassette deck. The sound is so much better. RDS is cools too. I did not know what it did and one morning on the way to work I looked down and saw the radio station/freq and name of the song. Cool I thought to myself.

cool thing i really liked was the fact that the RDS displayed in the MFD.

i totally agree. for the money i think it is one of the best mods. the main reason i even swapped over to COMAND was i received some inheritance money which i was able to then buy the COMAND without much thought. otherwise i would have stuck with the Audio10. I really did like the radio. In dash CD player, RDS, and way better bass than stock pioneer unit were well worth the money.

You must have bose then...on non-bose systems the audio 10 sounds alot better than the command.

why have the US-radios no RDS? will all your radio-stations send RDS-signals or only a few. here this is standart for about 10years. but we havenīt these XM/sirius satelite-stuff in europe, sound great, or?

Haven't driven my car with RDS since the fall, but at that time, I noticed that few stations here used it. It is a great feature, though, and I hope that they all adopt it eventually.

I'd rather not throw good money after bad, and wait to swap out the whole system, instead of appying the A10 band-aid to an overall mess. But that's just me.

yes i do have bose. the audio10 sounded way better than my stock h/u. i only had the stock unit for 1 day, i had the audio10 in before my car was ddelivered. i had the audio10 for about 5 months before i swapped it out with COMAND and didnt notice that big of a difference between the two.

alot of US radios in cars do have RDS. M-B was slow to get it out there i guess.
