How much for Auto-Leveling System

I am looking into getting the Bi-Xenon's to replace my halogen lights but I would really like to get the auto-leveling system to go with it. Does anyone know where to get it an how much it would run?

TIA
Bill

i think the auto leveling system is built into the BIX headlight assembly.

Oh, I thought that everyone was saying there were sensors attached to the sway bars or something.

Ask MBenzNL. He talked about it on here once in regards to wire bundle assemblies, etc. The general consensus was that it was cost prohibitive.
NOW, if you got that much money burning a hole in your pocket please PM me. (j/k)

Have you considered the clear glass halogens?

I have, and I can get them direct from MB (Just found out I have a friend of a friend that works in parts) for $500, but I just think the Bi-Xenons would be a bit nicer.

And no, don't have a ton of cash burning a hole in my pocket, just want to do it "right"

Thanks,
Bill

so everyone who retrofits bi-xenons to their cars don't have the auto-leveling, or a majority?

AFAIK Only those "upgrading" from xenons to bi-xenons would have the auto-leveling.

Well, doing BIX correctly would also require headlight washers as well.

BTW
Did you notice the sticky on top regarding the halogen setup. How does that compare to the pricing of *a friend of a friend*?

Those come to USD 398 (As of today) and prob some shipping on top. The fof just said $500 when he heard I wanted Bi-Xenons so it's not an "official" price quote. I'll find out if you want me to.

Thanx. That would be nice as several members on here might be interested in that deal if it pans out.

VAT is 15% correct? So he would need to be around $350 to have it work out?

I'll see what it comes to.

what would the cost be like to retrofit the washers. i noticed the bar that goes across the car below the bumper has holes in it where the washers stick out. do the non headlamp washer cars have a different bar? plus isnt the reseviour tank like double in size. probably would cost alot.

I'm guessing more than auto-leveling, you'd have to run lines for the wash fluid (Harder than wires b/c of kinks) then the motors to pop them out. And wire it back to the cabin for the button. Plus, isn't it heated?

yeah the lines or the tank is heated. im not sure which but it is heated. it would seem to be cost prohibitive. if you think about it, $750 from the factory isnt a bad deal for BIX lights, washers, and auto leveling. A COMAND retrofit is cheaper than buying thru the factory, yet a full Bi-Xenon retrofit would cost way more.

the sensors are on the front and rear sway bars and send signals to the bix lamp motors to adjust them. It is lots of work if you really want it, but it can be done.

Are there just sensors? Or is there a control module that is also needed? If it's just sensors it seems like a fairly easy run of wire to whatever box it needs then onto the lights.

Do you know the approx cost?

Thanks

the sensors are attached to the sway bars. i dont know about the rear but when i replaced my original sway's with AMG sway bars, there was only a sensor on the front. the motors which move the lights are built into the assembly i believe. where the sensor wires go from the sway bar im not sure. probably to a computer or something like that.

the rear sway has a sensor as well. You can see if with a flash light under neath. The washers for teh headlights don't use motors. They run on pressure only. The lines are heated and so is the tank. The tank is heated with recirculating radiator fluid and the lines are electrically heated. Holes would have to be made in the bumper. It is doable but would cost a bit. The headlight switch with the button alone is 180 dollars. They work good though. The pressure is pretty high.

Washers + Sensors

Summa summarum....
So it is possible. Itīs hard work, but how much does it cost to get the auto-leveling feature for bix.
It doesnīt have unit of itīs own, sensors connect directly to lamps and there is also connector to console.
We have strict laws requiring autolevel on xenons here in Finland.
So if I get BIX I would like to have autolevel.

How about lamp washers?
For some strange reasons I donīt have lamp washers, even though almost every C-class that is imported to Finland has them.
(Finland has so bad muddy weather, that our dealer gets them all with lamp washers automatically.)
Does my parktronic system have something to do with this?
Someone forgot the lamp washers :p
So how much does it cost to get lamp washers and how hard is that install!
