ABS/ESP Error

All I had done on my car last week was a replacement tie rod and repacked the bearings on both sides. As soon as I drove out of GoodYear the ESP and ABS lights came on. I dropped off the vehicle and asked them to trouble shoot it and return the car the same way I left it. Good Year has thrown in the towel. No success. 2005 C230 with 265,000 miles. This car is in mint condition. Can it be the ABS Moduel?

Did they disconnect the battery when doing the job? Turn on the engine, run the steering wheel lock to lock a couple of times.

Did they go to both locks twice with the engine running?

One of the rules with these cars is don't ever let the battery rundown slowly. Disconnecting the battery is fine but if it runs down slowly the memory in some computers like ABS can become compromised.

Another possibility is that they disconnected or damaged one of the ABS front wheel sensors. The only way to tell is to connect the car to am MB Star or Icarsoft scanner (generic OBD2 code reader won't do it) and run a proper diagnostic. This is probably way over the head of Goodyear's minimum wage employees. Take it to a dealer. Yes it's going to be expensive.
