Thumbs up Installed the Schätz exhaust tips...

...yesterday. After a long time search for them, I finally found them! Yes!

I think they look really good on the car, not TOO aftermarket IMO, but more comparable to a nice necklace on a good looking chick

Installation was done in around 15 minutes. JoRel pointed out in one of his posts that some of the Schätz tips seems to be a little crooked. This was the case for mine to, but I found out that there were some possibilities to align them. Now I think they are in perfect level.

I also noticed that there was a very slight change in exhaust sound (standing behind the car). It's now a little bit "deeper" sounding.

Ok folks, just wanted to share my excitement

Pics are under development right now... Unfortunately I've only got a "stone-age"-cameras so it will take a couple of days .

JoRel: I've only installed the tips, so it doesn't look quite as sharp as yours does. The tips are just a "bolt-on" thing and probably the easiest "update" you can do. 15 minutes, 5 screws, ..., done!

I bet it looks the same as mine. With mine, you dont see the muffler either. It looks like tips aswell until you look under and see a new muffler and pipes underneath.

I pronounce it like "scatz"...im probably way off.

Young: Yeah, the euro-pipes looks just as sad ...

Ok, I'll try to straighten out the pronounciation of the word Schätz.

It would be Sch(as in ... can't find any english word sounding like this... Like when you put a finger in front of your mouth in order to tell someone to be silent, or like Schumacher but NOT like sheep)ä(hmm, this one is even harder. Sounds like when you are confused or highly sceptical an says something in style with "ehhh", not like sheep, not like shitty and not like present even though the latter is the closest)tz(should be pronounced "ts" like in f.e. cats)

All straighten out and made perfectly clear, right

Pics are still under development. Geuss I will have them tomorrow or the day after tomorrow!

Edit: Haha I think I've found a word that describes how the ä is pronounced! I would be something (almost) similar to the ai in air

Schatz Tips

Just installed on my 320C Wagon. Got them from My Roadster for $119.00 ordered and rcvd in two days. Fit perfectly, 10 minute install and best "quickie" appearance improvment going. MBZ should make it standard issue-looks a lot better than the two odd bent pipes hanging under the skirt.

I didn't realize that Bagwell asked me a question in that old thread. Well, i'll just answer it here. I hate bringing up old threads, but i hate to leave a member hanging, especially for two months. My whole exhaust system was a whopping 700 bucks. Was it worth it??? I dunno. HEE HEE... Well here's a pix of it.

i got em, but no pics yet...

they look pretty nice from the back, however from the side view, they look like phantom tips as you cannot see the pipes that extend from the muffler to the tips (due to the turn down's)...

Warning:

Do not stand close to the bumper when pulling your golf bag out of the trunk. I've got a 2nd degree burn on my left shin caused by the tips to show for it....ouch!

Thanks JoReL!

Well, there are five screws in total to attach the tips. Four of them are in the tips themselves, and the fifth is on a metal "flap" that is supposed to attach to one of the muffler hooks. I noticed that if you starts with this fifth screw, ie. the one that is on the metal-flap, it's really hard to align the tips. They will be out of alignment by default so to speak.... If you on the other hand starts with the four screws in the tips, then it's pretty easy. The screw on the flap can then be used as a "securing" screw.

It took a few tries (and some force) to get the aligned, but I'm pretty satisfied with the result.
