C230k vs C320 Sport Sedans

Has anyone considered or considering these 2? I'm back debating on which to get, w/options, they're about $5-6k apart and trying to justify the difference. From a performance standpoint, other than being quicker to 60 (less than a second?), any other benefits like mid-range response in everyday driving? I assume suspense setup is similar in both? Also what's the Front/Rear weight distribution?

TIA

189hp vs 215 but keep in mind the 200 extra pounds in the front makes the car handle differently. Of course since it's a NA V6, there's more low end torque. I personally didn't see the extra 5, 6 grand being justified so I went with 230 Kompressor. Plus it's more fuel efficient. And I just love the supercharger whining sound. If you have the money go for it. Test drive both and see which one you like.

Also remember that the c320 has more options std that the C230 sedan. In addition there is equipment on the C320 that cannot be had with the C230 without modding it afterwards at greater expense. Therefore the difference may not be as great.

If you go by MB's website, the 0-60 difference is about .4 seconds, not a biggy for many. With the C320 you get Bose (maybe Harmon Kardon for '05) and the better power seats standard, about $1.8K in options if you were to get them in the C230 but most people don't. Also, the a/c controls are push button instead of knobs but you can get C320 a/c control for about $250, at least on the '04. Personally I like the knobs. Other than that, they are identical. The difference I see is closer to $7K if you don't get the Bose (doesn't really sound any better) and the premium power seats (C230 has 4 way power seats standards). Typically, the C230K goes for about $34K (sunroof, metallic paint, automatic, cd changer), the C320 Sport goes for about $41K.

C320 Coupe
If you drive them back to back, there is a noticiable power difference, especially at lower engine speeds. It only took a one minute ride for me to change my mind on the C230 sedan and get the C320 coupe for about the same price.

I've raced a C230 sedan with my C320 sedan and I spanked it good. But then, I have the underdrive pulley.

So what you are saying is that if you are too poor or not man enough for a C320 then get a C230K. Ergo, if you are too poor or not man enough to own a C32 then get a C320. At least that makes more sense, you certainly get more value for the price difference.

C230K to C320 = 13% HP increase for 20% more price
C320 to C32 = 62% HP increase for 25% more price

Besides, my C230 will blow the doors off any stock C320

Guys guys chill... Everybody has their preference... I could've got the C320... But I like the fuel efficiency of the 230 plus the supercharger whine... I had a 300ZX TT before and I miss having a forced induction car. It's not all about which one's faster stock... If you really want, you can make almost any car quicker... My TL comes stock in 15's and I ended up running in 13's with it... Beating Camaro SS/Mustang GT's left and right...
I have a question about mods though... Buellwinkle, yours is a 2.3 right? Hmm... I'd like to make my 1.8 faster but is there any potential in this engine? I thought it's running at 11psi already?!?! Thanks

i know the 2.3 has more low end torque and is more modable, but i test drove both, and i like the 1.8. never owned a 2.3 as a daily driver so i cant really say, but i do like my 1.8 alot.
