I went to the dealer yesterday and played with teh DAS system. I was able to activate the Heating Menu for my stationary heater. This will allow me to program 3 times per day that I can activate the stationary heater. Also in the DAS for menus were Keyless GO, Distronic, Tire PRessure Monitor. I activated everything but it kept throwing malfunctions since the coorsponding modules were not installed.

 

I would like to get this feature on my car, though I remember somebody saying that it would be way expensive to get it done in our C-class. Shouldn't you only need the module and activate it

 

Sunman, what about the electric folding mirror setting. Did you see the setting for open and close while the ignition is on and off. If the setting is there, I'll ask Steve to program for me when he is here for my TV tuner installation. Later !!!

 

I would like to have the Tire Pressure monitor. Anyone have the part numbers? Will it work on the C class?

keyless go is not a option for c class owners as mercedes will not hand out programmed keys. Our VIN numbers won't be associated with the appriproatae keys so it won't work even though you have teh system installed in the car. Distronic is a maybe?

 

I checked the door control modules in DAS and there was no setting for auto folding mirrors. Also, no setting in Instrument cluster features. All memory features like mirrors, seats, etc... were in the door control modules and already activated. But as steve said, the earlier w211 E classes did not ahve this feature also but newer ones do have it. Maybe the newer door control modules may have this feature.

I Found the Folding Mirror setting .......Its in the convenience settings. IC/DCM.Now (IF) I can play with the star when Steve returns..I Think Its a Go for folding mirrors when locking
The Setting is in the Combi..I Just need to set it to YES/Present!

 

ok now if i tell my service dept. to go to that area of my cars settings they will find it. i have an appt. on wednesday to take my car in for service. ill mention this to them. im anxious to see how wiedermanns install turns out. hes taking his in today to get installed.

 

I saw an S class at the mall with the mirrors folded! The wife now wants the folding mirrors.....

 

they are sweet. there is a CL55 i park next to all the time where i live and his mirrors are always folded. i love that look!

I believe another member named Wiedermann has done the auto folding feature but it was not in the door control module or the instrument cluster. He just got it done yesterday and said it works with the key remote. I did not get a chance to activate it but I will look into it next time I go to the dealer.

 

You have to do programming for BOTH the DCM and ICM (KI). Both the ICM and DCM must be of a revision that supports the features.

I agree. I have also been told that earlier C classes would not support this feature and you have to have a newer one. Wiedermann has a 03 C32amg delivered in late 02 and he got his mirrors to auto fold with the key. The new menu showed up in the convience settings.
