Gasoline
Back in 1993 when I moved to California in 1993 "fresh" out of Univ, not knowing and "assuming" all gas stations MUST have and sell the same gasoline, I had made the terrible mistake to use gasoline from Arco I think --back then on the Porsche--... whelp??? the car died, just like in the thread story Vader posted a link to... As Mr. Anaheim_Drew indicated, I also; never, ever put gas that is not from selected gas stations and brands that I know off...
The repairs on the car, though it didn't have any permanent damage, but the costs of the ordeal were just something that I was not willing to ever have to go through again...

hmm...dudes...I've been putting Shell in my tank for quite a while now (a month maybe more) because one of the local Shell station that just re-opened is cheaper than others. maybe i should stop.
interestingly, my bro's car needed the cam sensor replaced after he gone to one of the Shell station just before they closed down, so it could be some people sucked up the buttom out fuels w/ debris in it.

People will debate on Gas forever................. I think it is just the luck of the draw. My C320 runs great with Unocal, but my wife's C240 runs better on Chevron. Both cost about the same and we both use premium.

I only heard bad things about Shell's V-Power.. About turbocharged cars running a lot worse than on normal gas etc..
I use 98 octane fuel all the time.. runs great so far.. even if 95 octane fuel is the one recommended for this car (in europe that is!)

I only use shell on current car and on my previous cars. but i have not used V-Power yet. I get a decent milage about 25 in city. But on the 01, i did have couple problems. It would normally start after driving the car for about a mile in the morning. It would stall at the Stop sign every time. If shell has problems, what is another good gas company. Mobile Exxon ??

Hmm...I've used shell before, but that was when it was regular 93, not the V-Power stuff they have now.
MobilExxon is a pretty reputable gas company, I use them all the time now, no problems at all

Have used virtually all brands of gas in my area (Shell, Mobil, Arco, Chevron), and I've noticed absolutely NO significant difference in my performance, and especially NO significant difference in my mileage. If I ever get bad gas, I'd equally blame the station and the brand. I've heard countless stories where stations fill on other brands of gas, because they can get it cheaper that way.
