My C32 is dead,, help
Filled up the gas (Shell V-power) drove 10 miles back to a Lowes near home and strange thing happen when I try to start the car.
The car started fine,, engine idles rough and low on power(I shifted in reverse and felt the car wants to stall).
Try a few time and each time the car behave the same way. I never let it fully stalled because it feels like forever when the car felt it can even idle. I did saw a battery warning on OSD for a brief moment but the malfunction menu did not have anything logged.
I called up road side asist and they ask me what gas did I filled up with because Shell gas in certain states are high in sulfer contant.
I let the car sat for 2 hours and went back to start the car again, it cranks but does not start the engine at all,, same thing after I re-set the battery. The strange thing is that the key will remain in the start position and not move a click back counter-clock wise. So I can let the car crank without holding it in place.
AND NOW,, the car has Evosports ODPS, full 55 intake, no secondary cats. I am sure if it is some internal engine problem(bent valve, thrown crank.......) the dealer will sure blame it on the mods.
The car is 1/2 from my dealer and I will have my service advisor look at it first thing tomorrow morning as he is a personal friend of mine. If he thinks its internal,, I will have to have the stock pulleys put back before I tow it in.
Does anyone have idea of what may have cause this.

Wholly Crap!
I have heard of C32's stalling, mine did before and I had to drive it in first gear untill I could get off the freeway, I turned it off, started it up and it drove like carp to the dealer. Then at the dealer it went away and the malfuction light turned off. It never happend again.
I burned out my battery and had problems with the key and starting.
try charging your battery.

Gasoline
Back in 1993 when I moved to California in 1993 "fresh" out of Univ, not knowing and "assuming" all gas stations MUST have and sell the same gasoline, I had made the terrible mistake to use gasoline from Arco I think --back then on the Porsche--... whelp??? the car died, just like in the thread story Vader posted a link to... As Mr. Anaheim_Drew indicated, I also; never, ever put gas that is not from selected gas stations and brands that I know off...
The repairs on the car, though it didn't have any permanent damage, but the costs of the ordeal were just something that I was not willing to ever have to go through again...

Hmmm, I would not blame it on the Shell 100 V power. Although they do not sell it in Belgium, I always buy it whenever I fill her up in Germany. I never had problems due to this fuel.
However I reported some weeks ago that my engine made strange noises before it eventually died.
The MB dealer know about all my mods (in fact the installed parts of it themselves) so that is not a problem for me.
Turned out there was a water leakage from the IC core ... this also explains why the water in the water reservoir dissapeared eventhough I did not use the winshield washer system.
It has been fixed all my right foot is happy again !

Cars and boats!
1... i stopped using Shell after the Gas messed up the cats and killed the O2 sensor on my ML55!! Chevron or Amoco all the way now!!
2...about your mods... the dealer has to prove taht those mods messed up your car (if indeed they did), but if it has nothing to do with the mods taht messed up ur car, warantee should still cover it. If they can prove that the mods messed up ur car then im sure the tuner whom u bought the mods from has some sorta warantee for compensation!!!

Dont worry about it I had the same problem just a little while ago after getting shell gas. Contact shell and let them know about this problem get someone to give you cost of how much it will be to repair everything and send the bill to them. mine was in the range of $4,000 since the gas tank had to be replaced. Send the bill to shelll and try and have your friend do everything under warranty and maybe you will get away with $4,000 to add a mod or do whtever you like with the money.
I have a list of what they did and what was replaced.
If you have any questions just pm me I am dealing with shell as we speak.

The car is being tow to the dealer this morning, my advisor suspect a faulty fuel pump, pump relay or other fuel related issues.
I will keep everyone posted, thanks

I dont think the gas has anything to do with the pump failure, as the pump's only function is pumping the fuel as oppose to sensing the fuel.
Probably just an isolated incident!

Nothing
I find it interesting that you people over there had problems with Shell. 2 years or so ago, a suvey was done on fuel qualities here in SA. Shell came out on tops.
