2004 c240
722.6 transmission gremlins

My husband and I just recently purchased our first Mercedes. It's a 2004 c240 rwd. My husband's a mechanic by trade but mostly on American made vehicles. We got the car for a steal because it had transmission problems. The codes pointed to the conductor plate. Ordered a new one with the kit that comes with new plug, filter, and gasket. Put fluid in it and it was shifting like a dream, smooth as could be. We put almost 200 miles on it, and we stopped at a stop sign and when he hit the peddle it wouldn't go. It reved but no movement, like we were in neutral. Turned it off and back on and it worked fine, till we stopped, same thing. We made it the 4 miles to home and hooked it up to the snap on computer. We got a p2502, p220a and a p2500.
we are wondering if it's just the filters dirty now, the old fluid was nasty.
any input would be greatly appreciated.. thanks

Pull up the passenger side carpet, pull the kick panel and remove the TCM. Check the TCM for ATF contamination. If contaminated dissemble and clean the TCM, reflow the large solder joints in the TCM plug, reasemble. Then replace the 13 pin plug in the transmission. The plug leaks ATF and it wicks up the wiring harness to the TCM.

How much did you pay for the parts?
Made in China?
Check the fluid level 1st, and TCU as mentioned previously, then
go back to where to you worked last...conductor plate...
if not OEM then likely garbage..

Mercedes now only sells rebuilt with core charge, no more new...so forget that...
Kostal is the company that actually makes them for Mercedes out of Germany,
and the only one I've found that's for certain OEM IS THIS ONE..(Click here).
Mercedes makes them scratch off the MB part number but it's the same
part the dealer USED to sell new, when they sold a new part, instead of some used
rebfurb'd trash.

What fluid dd you use?

Hopefully you replaced orings as well..
Have your hubby invest in iCarsoft code reader as well...
