w203 c200 - will cooling fan work even if AC has no refridgerant?

Hi guys,

I've got a problem - my '03 c200 heats up because the cooling fan never comes on (even if I try turning the AC on). I've searched around, and one thing I'm confused about is that I've read that this could be a bad AC pressure sensor - so if all my AC refridgerant has leaked out because there's a hole in the line - would this prevent an otherwise working fan from coming on?

I can't seem to find definitive info on this

Thanks for your help!

Right, thanks for that! It's a bit of strange design - so if hit the AC line and the gas leaks out, that will prevent the radiator fan from ever coming on, leading to an overheat?
