Where did you get your brakes changed at?

I'm going to have to change my brakes pretty soon, and I was just wondering where you all got your brakes done at? Did you take it to the stealer (dealer), do it yourself, or take it to a brake place (i.e. brake depot)?

Also, how many miles have you gone before changing em? I've got 33k miles on mine.

Thanks

That price is hard to belive by the way. Love how the price went down from the last time you posted it. Out of 5 MB dealers I spoke with on the phone, that price does not even cover labor. What's the name of the dealer, I would like to call them.

CitronC230K_03: May I ask you which dealer did you go? It's a good deal for the price you said.

Thanks

i had it done at Penske Motor Cars West Covina in Jan when I had my service B performed. i was called during the service and they said i had 5% left on my front pads. i told them to go ahead and change them. the cost included pads, sensors and labor. it has a break down of parts and labor on my service receipt. ill scan the reciept when i get home and post it.

nicedeboy, i want to apologize for way under estimating the cost of my brakes!
im sure that extra $1.12 would surely cover any labor cost, which my supposed $202 would barely cover the labor.

have a nice day!!

I'm trying to figure out what tax percent you have in Cali, is it 5 percent or just one thing or another? I know, when I visited Washington DC, they have 8.5 percent on goods and 10.5 percent on food.

7.75% i thought, but looks like 8.25%.

though playing with the calculator myself, it looks like 8.25% on parts alone. thats the only number that comes up with 9.687975, which would be $9.69 for tax. i dont know if they tax for labor, and asking my brother they said its just parts.

i must admit you are very lucky not having to pay taxes. it does get pricey. im in the GB for the AMG brakes and 8.25% tax on $620 isnt going to be fun. hell tax on a car sucks even more.

There's always a catch though... when you don't pay taxes, they get it from you other ways, like TOLL roads, higher property taxes, insurance rates, and vehicle registration fees...

anyway, in California, it depends in which county you live, as far as how much retail tax you pay... in some counties, it's 7.75% others it's 8.25%

go figure !!!

Don't sweat the tax on the AMG brakes though... at $620 + tax you're still getting the sweetest deal around !!

see you at the meet tonight !!!!
