Bake Discs and Pads

This is the second thread to see if somebody can give me their opinion about this rotors and pads. I want to get them because they are not very expensive. But I want to make sure that those will work fine in my car.

here is the link.

spend the xtra cash and get the real AMG brakes. they are bigger, 4 piston calipers and Mercedes parts. btw there's a group buy for them right now.

I would definitely go for the full monty, and get the AMG brakes...

if you're going to spend on discs (rotors) and pads, might as well go for the good stuff !!!

get on the group buy for AMG 4-piston brake system !
You can't beat the price !

AMG brake rotors, pads, calipers are mediocre at best. The rotors are built for one side only. MB was too cheap when they subcontracted out for the rotors to buy one for each side. Take a close look at the rotors on all their AMG cars. The rotor on the right is the same as on the left, rather than a mirror image of each other. This causes air to be vented in the proper direction on one side and in the wrong direction on the other.

The 4 piston calipers are nice, but they are heavier than the other 4 piston calipers out there.

The AMG pads are clearly inferior to the aftermarket pads available for similar prices. They don't stop as well as the Kevlar content or ceramic pads and are much more dust producing.

What AMG rotors and calipers do is look good. I'm not convinced they work any better than stock.

Dr. Chill,
Let me tell you that unless you have been to the C Spot and gone 110 in the C32, and in about 50 feet turn left you never appreciate the AMG/Brembo brakes installed stock in the heavier C32. In a lighter C 230K Coupe or Sedan with after market Porterfield pads they are truly great stoppers

I highly recommend the C32 AMG rotors and calipers, with Stoptech SS/teflon lines and Porterfield pads. JNothing even comes close for the price.

Aren't these brake rotors and calipers the same as in my C230K sedan, only mine say Mercedes Benz rather that AMG?

The C32 Brembo brakes have larger pads than the C230K Sports Sedan brakes. Both are Brembo, the C32 are slightly better

the 2004 brakes are 12.6 or 12.8 inches and the AMG are 13.4 or .6. they are nearly an inch larger.
