spring pad
spring pad
Can someone jsut give me a quick definition of a spring pad?
pad between spring and socket?!?!
also i noticed that the rear and front suspension layouts are different? like the spring seems to be in the shocks on the front, whereas in the rear they seem to be separate.. concerns in lowering, etc...
thnx very much

The spring pad is the rubber holder that the top of the spring sits in. And yep, the 203 has MacPherson struts in the front, a first for Mercedes. That's why the spring and shock are one unit.
thnx
so is that why some people say only the fronts can change the spring pad, becos of mcpherson. wheras the rears use multilink suspension, i think, the conventional mercedes suspension??
is it harder to exchange the suspension in the front than the rear?
i was just looking at a article in Eurotuner about lowering a 240, and the front did seem to be quite complicated.
ps. if any one did read the newest isssue of eurotuner, there's a clk430, modyfied heavily!!
