Mb w203 270 cdi 2002, automatic
Im struggling about 3 months with this problem:
Car has weak acceleration, huge black clouds are coming from exhaust when pressing gas, like it has no turbo attached or something. When pressing kick-down, ill get EPC and engine turns off. Sometimes my gearbox goes to limp mode.
So far checked/changed things:
Conductor plate
Tranny fluid
Map sensor
Maf sensor
Fuel filter
Oil filter
Air filter
Today i cleaned egr valve, i forgot to attach egr valve vacuum hose and my surprise was "car is not going epc or limp mode anymore", but as soon as i attached that vacuum hose, ill get epc and black smoke again.
Several mechanics are inspected my car but none of them could fix it. Last one sayd my turbo is bad, but i think its not.
Btw, if car has 3k+ rev, ill hear loud air moving sound from engine, like its getting too much air or something.

Lots of black smoke means there is un-burnt fuel
Fuel injectors are one thing to check but considering you have very poor acceleration and tons of smoke, it would not surprise me if turbo is bad.
Also if the EGR valve is bad(or lines are clogged) then that could cause black smoke as it would be sucking in oil.
Cleaning a faulty valve rarely fixes it as the solenoid goes bad which causes it to be stuck open/closed.

Injectiors are checked and not leaking etc. But if i removed my egr vacuum, then i had good acceleration and turbo worked.
