i read before that only the drivers side was power seat option and no more passenger side option...but i'm looking on carsdirect.com to price out a '05 c230 and under the "seat and trim" section, "front sport seats" include:

Sport Front Seats :

•Includes 8-way adjustable front seats with power adjustment for height and recline..

does that mean both seats even though the option is only for the drivers side?

Passenger power seat is not available even as an option. They've seem to have done some option cutting on the most recent models. On the 05 C320 Sedan the digital climate control is not available anymore.

i know it's not an option anymore, use to be but not on '05's now.

But what's strange is that carsdirect.com lists "sport seats" as including 8-way powered front seats...

Power seats is misleading as it comes with power seats but when you pay $600 more, you get a power steering wheel adjuster and power for moving the seat back and forth and seat/steering wheel memory. The stock power seats are up/down and recline only, moving the seat back and forth is manual and no memory. On my 2004.5, the passenger seat is power standard but I don't think it is on the 2005.

I guess what I was trying to unsuccessfully say is, CarsDirect.com web site is most likely wrong. As far as options go, I wouldn't trust anything but mbusa.com

I saw one at the dealer months ago and it is power drivers only with the half assed power passenger seat. No more full power passenger seat to cut costs I guess. Funny thing is that it is not standard and is an option so I do not see how this cuts costs. Since I paid extra for dual ones anyhow in mine. But who knows what crack MBUSA is smoking that they do not want dual power seats in the C Class. Probably not for cost cutting but to diferentiate the classes more than they were before.

ah yes. But I'm assuming if you get the driver side power seats w/ steering column option, you'll have full power driver's side...

Correct. The one I saw had the Power Seat Option. It was a full power drivers seat with memory just like in my 2003. But the passenger was partial power and no memory of course. I then looked online and noticed the price and package name were the same as they were on the window sticker as well.

yeah though i dont take passengers very often i do like the full power front seats in my coupe.

They did not need memory but they still should be an option. Even my W201 190E 2.3 8 Valve has dual power seats. So for the last 18 years at least the baby benz class has had power seats and now they decide to kill that. What the hell is going on at Mercedes lately, there competition has dual power seats dammit. They are killing themselves by giving less for the same amount as before.
