changing the air intakes

I don't know if this is true but I heard there is two intakes in the c320 sport sedan? Is it true? and if so is it worth to put K&N air filters in. Did anyone do this? Is there much benefit? does it sound much different?

Air filters for 320.....

There are two air filters in a 320...I doubt it will sound differently, and I doubt it will increase HP. It WILL increase the size of particulates passing through so that is a definite negative. Do a search on K&N and you'll get more missinformation than you need. Fact is that the standard air cleaners pass more air than the engine can use so how could more capacity help?

I agree...leave the intake stock! I mean, do what you want, but we're not talking about an M3 engine here. Two paper filters probably pass enough for a C55...they may even be the same filters. K&N has been getting away with engine murder for years, just by saying "our filters pass more air than stock filters". It may not even be true, but let's say it is. You know what will pass even MORE air than a K&N? No filter at all! Would you drive your expensive engine around with no filter, even if it would add a few horses? I wouldn't. A K&N WILL pass more...of everything (grit, grime, fish lips, cat fur, you name it!). The primary purpose of an air filter is to FILTER air. If there's a capacity problem with a paper filter, you just increase the filter area. Oops, they've already done that, they doubled it (two filters). And that's just the filters themselves. Now let's talk about the nice, expensive-to-develope, QUIET housings that already draw their air from the cool area in front of the radiator.
And quiet is good. I've never cared for obnoxiously loud intake drone/howel the way I do for a nicely tuned, but subdued exhaust note. 'Course, that's just me...
