maritz research???
I just got the mail from Maritz Research asking about my detail info and cars.....
Have you ever got this mail before?
Are they working for MB?
The reason I am asking is "Is it OK to release my info to them?".
ps. They put $1 bill in the envelop...

I had filled them out in the past('00 Saab 9-5 Aero sedan and wagon = $2). You'll probably be seeing more surveys. I had to fill one out that took about 1.5 hours and was all on a floppy disk. I think that one was worth $50!
It just depends on what the manufacturer wants to know about it's purchasers.

Why would it not be ok to release info to them? There are lots of independent survey companies that compile data on everything imaginable. The ones that are not sponsered by the company/dealer are probably more accurate.
Of course, if you don't want to release the info, it's totally up to you. You can always keep the $1, and throw away the survey.

As a former mailing list manager, just remember that any information you provide will give them a demographic profile of who you are and what your buying practices are. If you really want to screw them up, omit any income, e-mail and telephone information but list all high ticket name brands and that you deal in cash.
You'll come up under the "organized crime figure" profile and they'll leave you alone.

I would think the client on this survay is the MBs competition Bimmer, SAAB, etc.
This is a pretty common market research technique. Tell ya though, after working in marketing, if a reseacher wants my opinion, it costs more than a buck.
It's fine to fill it out.

(no need for unwanted credit checks)
