A/C blows hot air

My W 203 C180 compressor blows hot air when a/c is switched on.
But it blows cold if temp is set at minimum (18^C).
Any setting at above 18^C, immediately blows hot air. No loss of freon.
Any suggestions welcome, Thanks.

If you have a sunroof, try opening it. If that restored the AC operation, then it's a bad sensor in the overhead control panel. Search the forum for "thermistor" (also try the W209 as it's the same unit).

Thanks, Rodney. I don't have a sunroof. This is a UK spec RHD vehicle.

I would still investigate it being a bad thermistor. It's a temperature sensor in the overhead control panel that goes bad and creates your exact symptoms.
