Seat control failure?

Hey Guys,

I’m interested in finding out how many of you had to replace the driver side seat control at some point. Last yr when things got cool here the back and forth motion on the seat stopped working and coincidentally came back to life after the weather warmed up. I was moving the seat back forward the other day after cleaning and it stopped. The exact scenario as before. Now there’s absolutely no function from any of the switches down to moving the steering wheel back and forth. I checked all fuses, connections underneath the seat..

Not sure if the switch is at fault or possibly the SAM. Is there a way to tell? Any insight would be appreciated!

Cheers,

-Rob

They appear to be fine. Just to confirm the fuse location for the seats is #1 & 2 in the trunk?

Thanks.

If I had not figured things out earlier I might be a bit confused by these numbers my friend, but you hit the nail on the head. I thought it would be wise to pull the entire fuse chart being that 99% of people only refer to checking fuse# 1 & 2 in the trunk. Something told me there was another fuse related to the seat control. Especially in my case where all of the movement controls including the steering wheel adjust ceased after moving the seat back and forth after cleaning. It reached the halfway point and completely stopped. I tried disconnecting the battery first.. After researching I realized there are two fuses located in the panel on the side of the cluster. Both are for the left and right seat control.

Sure enough fuse# 27 (30 Amp) was blown. Replacing restored everything back to normal. I’m still confused about the difference between the fuses in the trunk for the seat control module and the side panel, if someone happens to know please advise and what causes the fuse to blow. Make sure to also check these fuses if you have similar.

I stumbled across this detailed fuse chart for the 203s which confirmed my suspicions: https://fusesdiagram.com/mercedes/fu...edes-w203.html

Cheers,

-Rob
