easy to chirp the Coupe?

ok, i assume that chirping is when it sort of skips and makes a high pitch noise as i floor it.

i've been testing this and it seems quite easy to do. i have the michelin pilot sports. it bothers me b/c i feel like i'm not getting the most efficient use of the tires. either i have too much power or not enough tire.

am i correct in this analysis?

You can do more than just chirp the tires on a C230 (6 spd.). I have done pretty good burnouts. It's really not a reflection on tires. The all-season tires put on are not the best but they are good enough. What I'm surprised about is why doesn't the traction control stop it like on other cars?

you are fine... you only have a problem if your tires break out at less than 1/2 throttle... if you have pilot sports, don't worry about it.

I chirped my tires today! On a road that i take everyday, I saw that there was a wet spot about 8 foot wide across the road, right were i shift 1-2. So i turned off ESP and went for it, I kinda footshifted it, if you know what I mean, and it spun hard in the wet and made a nice chirp when the pavement was dry againi. Pretty fun car

doh, i didn't read lower when i decided to post this(or above as the case may be).

But you should try 130. It's a little nerve wrecking the first couple of times, but once you get in the right mindset it's really fun and feels incredible on the road. Try it with the cruise control. I set it at 130 just to see if it works. guess what... it does. haha

as far as tire chirping i love doing that. but i hate wasting perfectly good rubber.

This is just a guess....MB works the control via engine power instead of the brakes. Perhaps there is enough of a delay to be able to do a small burnout or chirp of the tires. I'm sure someone will correct me if this is off base.
