Vented Seat Project
As many of you know, I have started my vented seat project. I did some further research and looks like the clk seats are the best bet. Especially the coupe owners. THe seats are a direct swap provided you can find a set of vented, heated, and orthopedically adjustable seats. These are very very hard to come by. I was thinking of going the E class route but the leather is not available in ASH gray which is what I have. Also, the Coupe owners cannot use these seats as they don't have the handle for moving the seat forward to get in. THe CLK seats come in the same colors as the w203 seats. If you are going to retrofit the seats then, you need to change the leather covers to CLK ones with heated elements, and holes for the vented part, the pads have to be changed to ones that have the fans built in. The E class has seperate fans available. The CLK is a 1 piece design with pad and fan built into one. Also, if you are going to add multicontour seats (which I highly recommend) then the part numbers are different for everything. Also needed are the small control modules for the venting part. About 80 bucks a piece and 1 each seat. THe seat harness for the vent fans which is about 40 bucks a piece for each seat. The switches in dash about 140 bucks. The Main harnesss which is about 40-50 bucks. My car is alrady wired with the switches, main harness, seat harnesses, fuses in place. Just waiting on pads and leather covers. IF you get leather covers and pads, expect to spend about 2 grand. Steve can get them much cheaper but problem is getting a CLK vented seat. Time will tell. Or you can do each part of the seats in stages or just 1 seat! If you add orthopedic function, the costs go up even more. The Pump, Airlines, Bottom Air bag, 2 side air bags, lumbar airbags, valve unit, and valve bracket.

I have ask steve for a very very long time to get the CLK seats but they are simply not available. They are much more rarer than the E class w211 seats. He has a set of w211 seats in black with multicontour, heated, and cooled feature but it is black and I need ash gray. Also, the w211 seats will not work in coupes. The trim on the bottom of w211 seats is different than w203 and 209 seats. And also, finding AMG seats is really really rare.

oh are you sersious you are having a probelm finding those seats, I saw a whole bunch of them the other day. It is very simple to get those.
Go to your Stealership, order a clk320 with options you want, and swap everything out as simple as that. That way you can also get the motor for the trunk closer. Just kidding
Good luck with the seats project.

The leather covers on cars equipped with multicontour are a little different. THe back portions of the leather are stitched with a stretchy material so the leather can stretch when the air bladders are inflated. Installing air bladders in regular seats may not be very effective at all.
