seats question

any of you have tried to take off your automatic seats?
I tried it last week and it seems that my engine wont start. Until now, I havent figure that out whether it is because of my battery or my seats. Any ideas guys? Thanks

LOL
NO, actually I am replacing it with racing seats but when I ve installed the racing seats, I could not start the engine, Im wondering is this because of the seats, or maybe because of my weak battery.

If you are only using it for show then why do you need to start the car? I think that on the W203 they seats are tied into the airbag system to detect for babyseats, maybe disconnecting disallows the car to be started.

buellwinkle, I still have to start the engine, even for shows, coz I have to roll in.

I see your points about the seats tied into the airbag, however, there are several w203 both sedans and coupe replaced their seats. Anyway Ive just bought a new battery and I'm waiting for it to be installed and see what happen. thanks for the info

it wouldnt make sense that a battery would be why it didnt work. i mean if it started fine before you reoved the seats then it still should. unless the car sat for a long time, but still, i would think buell's explanation makes sense.

Yeah the car was in the bodyshop for 2 months and the battery was very very weak
I just called my mechanic, now,..he changed the battery, he replaced the seats back but still it wont start, what the heck,..
