2005 C230 Sedan
Lowering Question and My Torsion Rod Broke
I bought a 2005 C230 sedan and installed the H&R springs, the back came out perfect, no gap at all. The front had about a 2 in gap, I didn't like how it looked and asked my installer to cut the springs. He is a professional and is known nationally and around the area for his expertise. The front came out perfect no gap at all and it matches the back, but he said its borderline now. Meaning that on hard bumbs it can hit the bumb stops of the car. I want to know if any one else has lowered it this way and should I change the shocks yet?? But to me when I drive it fells fine and handles way better. Also My Torsion Rod broke today while I was dropping my car off to my friend. He said that he couldn't beleive it from experince and thinks that Mercedes will probably recall that part when more problems emerge. I had to buy a new one today and it will be installed tommorow. It connects the front sway bar to the shocks!!!!!!!

Cutting the spring is the worst way to go for lowering your car. Consider Coilover kit for extreme lowering. I'm not sure about your torsion rod, i used cut spring for about 6 months and my car did just fine.
