Euro License Plates

I did a long search, and nothing what so ever .. All I came up was how to remove the scratches when you remove the plate. Has anyone done this yet? I have an 05 c230k-ss and just want to know, if anyone has found a place that makes them? I have seen it on ebay, but I am not sure about that. Also I contacted Jerry from formymercedes, but he said he knew of a company that was in Colorado, but couldn't remember it. Any help? Thanks!

Since you live in the So Cal area, you can order them in person at the Beverly Hills Motor Sport located on Robertson in the 90210 area.

Or at their website:

Is it legal in California to just have EURO front/back plates that correspond to our actual license plates? Can we just put our CA DMV plates in the trunk?

Not legal. They must be State issue. However, I had a body shop paint my 66 Corvette plates from blue and yellow to black and yellow to match those issued when the car was new. Technically, it is a felony to alter plates but they have to prove fraud or intent to fraud. They'd have an easier time sticking me with a $500 (minimum) misdemeanor fine. I don't drive the car more than 50 miles a year and have never been hassled.

Euro front license plate VS. COPS

I like to get a custom Germany plate for my front bumper with my real license plate number on it. I know it sticks out like a sore thumb compare to not having a plate at all. That’s why before I get one, I like to know if you or people that you know ever got into trouble with cops for having them in California? Thanks!!!

I beleive that CA law states you must have a front plate. Why would you risk receiving a ticket for not having a front plate? Just put the plate required on the front of your car!

California has a lot going for it, but there sure are a lot of rules and regulations out there (and taxes)

Here in Louisiana we dont need front plates. Im going to keep my Euro front plate on the SL after I pick up Euro Delivery in a few weeks.

I know people get ticketed all the time for no front plate. If you had euro plates, that would stick out and be a ticket magnet IMO.

I believe that every State publishes somewhere their minimum requirements for license plates. Both front and rear.

I have a feeling that the minimum requirements spell out such as size, reflectiveness, and letter and number sequence.

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible or even likely that a europlate may indeed meet your state's minimum requirements....

I know for a fact that a front license plate is required in California. A family member got a fix it ticket because I thought it was better to leave it off since the road cameras (for red light runners) take pictures of the front plates.

Is @ Home
but he said that the front plate numbers would be the same as his rear ones. and he also said that he would want to have it as the front plates instead of not having any. it would stick out but once the officer finds that its legit (well numbers anyways) what would happen? i would also like to know

i just dont like to put a front plate in the first place. I think it looks better without it personally. i was one of the luck ones where the dealer didn't drill holes into my bumper.

A box on 4 wheels
You shouldnt worry about red light camera tickets. There's a rule or law that goes against red light cameras. They can be easily argued in court and easily won. Most people use this defense: The camera takes a picture, but the story behind it can only be told by the driver. Everyone else who analyzes the picture will come up with something different, therefore invalid.
