Trouble getting clips to lock after installing 05 mirror blinkers
I just installed the 05 mirror blinkers on my C230 sedan and cannot get the clips holding the mirror casing to lock. I applied a significant amount of force, but did not want to break or bend them. Should they pop back into place easily or does it take alot of force? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

By far, that's the part that took the longest during the entire install. For some reason, getting these things to pop back in is a trick. After trying for about 15 minutes, I pulled them off again, and pried the aluminum triangle thing up a little, so that it would have to really snap in when the assembly is pushed back in. This seemed to do the trick. A little force going in and I heard the snap. I tried pulling it off, and it didn't come off, so it worked. Don't pull out the aluminum triangle out too far, but just enough. Look at the mechanics of it; look at where that clip is supposed to catch, and figure out what it will take for it to snap back in. Just a little bit of patience.

I experienced the same.
My case was that the metal piece got stuck in the pushed position.
It was supposed to spring back by itself but it seems I applied excessive force to push the piece when removing the casing
Luckily, the other side did not have the same problem and I could compare the difference then noticed.
When I tried to pull the piece with screw driver, it popped back by itself.
After this, putting the casing back was effortless.

Locking the cover back on is the easypart...JUST BE SURE TO POP IT BACK UP FIRST as the clip is held down after it has been pushed down in order to get the cover off....as long as the clip is held down, it will NEVER lock the mirror cover no matter how much patience you have...
