I replaced my wagon's hatch after it was rear ended, but my car thinks the trunk is open while I am driving (I get the red "trunk open" message, but I am able to clear it). The latch still latches and releases when I open and close it, and it still locks and unlocks with the key fob. I have unhooked my battery and let it sit to see if that reset anything and clear the issue, but it's still doing it. What should I try next?

I unfortunately do not have my original hatch, so I cannot pull the latch from it, which is what I think I should have done...
