Phone not detected when in cradle

Phone not detected when in cradle
Sometimes when I plug my phone in the cradle it does not connect with the system. Is this just a problem with the contacts being dirty or does someone know of some other issue with the cradle and connector? I have a 2004 c230 with the v60 setup.

The contacts should not be dirty. Use a vacuum or compressed air or a GENTLE application with a tooth brush or isoprophyl alcohol on a swab to ensure that the contacts are clean.

Its not the contacts. I have had endless problems with my phone. MB cannot fix it. One way is to first turn on the radio and then put the phone in the cradle. This works most of the time.
MB tells me I must turn my radio off and on this also works but someting is wrong. To date MB have replaced my radio, cradle and nothing has changed.
They did remove errors codes which had accumulated on the cars computer system and this did help a bit. (It seems as if every error that occurs is stored on the cars computer memory) Good luck I have given up trying to fix my cell phone - radio problem.
