Should both HB and LB come out of the bixenon projector

i have the light package, and its the bi-xenon headlights. should the HB and LB both come out of the projector? i have another HB bulb that is super bright, but MBUSA says both HB and LB should come out of the same bi-xenon project.

i too have BIX. xenon HB and LB is what Bi-Xenon means. both the high beam and low beam are xenon. in this case there is a small reflector that moves when you swtich on the high beam to allow for more xenon light to come out of the projector beam. there is also a halogen high beam because it is faster for the high beam in the halogen side to turn on if the xenon builbs arent on at the time.

so yes the HB and LB are both in the projector housing.

So, for high beam, we are using both xenon and halogen? I tried to see the difference b/c LB and HB for the bi-xenon, but couldn't find any difference except for that halogen HB came on!

no if you look closely when you pull up to a wall at night, you will se the xenon light comes on brighter. have someone switch the highbeam on for you while you stand up front near the housing, you will hear the reflector move inside. also if your HB are on when you start the car, only you low beams will be on if you turn on your headlights. you will have to turn off the HB and then turn them back on. this is a safety feature because BIX HB are so bright.

there is no way in hell that a halogen HB alone will put out as much light as your highbeams do with BIX.
