Another thread talks about custom plates, we have those here in Canada, we also have plates with owners ham radio call signs. But we don't have veterans plates, what are they?

They are for those who have served in the armed forces. Some states also have special plates for former prisoners of war, those who have been wounded in combat (Purple Heart medal), and winners of the Medal of Honor. Many states have plates for members of the National Guard.

In addition, a lot of states offer "special" plates with part of the fee going to a charity. Here in Texas, my wife's car has an "Animal Friendly" plate which has a cute picture of a dog and a cat. There are also plates for school alumni, police and fire orgs, etc.

In DE w have special black porcelein tags you can get. They're replica's of ones that were originally issues in the (best guess) 30's and 40's. So the story goes, the lower the number the higher the prestige. People actually pass them from generation to generation and it's not uncommon to see something in the 3 digit range go for thousands of dollars. Only plates less than 87999 are eligible for the black tags. The governor has #1.

Personal Licence Plate Fun!!!
Need some creative people to help me out on a licence plate saying....!!! It has to be from 2-7 letters or numbers(no O's) here in California. It will go on the whale tale enviromental plate.My Ideas were my name Yvettte or 4 YT or 1FITPRO, or something or nothing ???? Some people tell me it is dangerous to put my name on my plates. What does yours read??

well..as a foreigner..i prefer the normal california plate..more "localized" ?
i have SC99...
well.. i heard ppl saying that if you offended someone...and they see it is a personalised plate..they will remember you more easily....IMHO....if they really wanna remember you...they can just take the plate number down..no matter what....

I agree!!! That is why I was thinking of just putting 4 YT with the space in the middle to show the tale. I would just put my initials but some one has it. I just love the picture, and the support is also a plus that we can help the enviroment!! You have good taste..oh ya my sun roof has a whistle and it is in the shop again.Can you belive it!! It is ok...because I am having fun with the rent a car c coupe..Sending happy C Wishes!

beside the license plate..you can do something else too!..
like me..i remove the "C230", and added in "SC99"...i got them all from MB....the "9" is actually an inverted "6" !
well...i know that mb don't have a y class...but let your imagination run..they have C,E,S,L,G,M 2,3,4,5,6,0 and of course..the infamouse 9 !

And I initialized them . Y A T. Ok so I'mm yat..It looks nice on the plate and shows the design of backround!
