18" Wheels on '05 Sport Sedan and Offset Question

Guys-

I'm looking into getting another set of rims for my car to use as snow tires, since I know the stock Michelin Pilot Sports will be absolutely horendous in the snow.

I am looking at the CL Style AMG Wheels, similar to these:

However, I can only find them in 18" and I am looking to get 17's. I wanted to know what 18"s would look like on a stock suspension '05 Sedan and what the proper offset's would be? If anyone has pics of an '05 Sedan with 18's or can give me an idea of what the fender gap would be that would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Lowell

not sure about the 05 sport rims, but the OEM dual spoke C32 rims are 34mm and 37mm. If on 18s, they're most likely 35mm and 38mm.

FrankW-

Wasn't able to find the offsets, but the wheel sizes are 17x7.5 front and 17x8.5 in the rear, same as the C32, so my guess is they have the same offsets. Any idea or pictures of what a C32 looks like on 18" rims with stock suspension?

Thanks

I like 'em too! Thanks

Frank-
Thanks for the pic, looks a little high on stock suspension but I guess since these will be winter wheels/tires more ground clearance is better. By any chance have you seen the knock-off CL wheels in 17"?

Thanks

The wheels are very pretty, but you do know that if you put 18" 2/3 pc wheels it will still look like you didnt upgrade in size. Go for 19's

LorinserCClass-

Thanks for the info., however as I stated these wheels would be for snow tires, so I just wanted something fairly reasonable, that looked OEM or AMG for that matter. 19" snow wheels would be a little much, thats why Im leaning towards the stock 17" size.

Thanks

I don't think AMG makes 2 piece in 17", the smallest is 18". You might be able to find replicas in 17" though. I'm going for Dunlop M3s with 171 style III 17" rims.

For winter traction, narrower is better...so if you went with 7" width all the way around (205/50s) the offset would only have to be "in the ballpark" for them to work.

Here's another question: will 16s fit an 05 SS, what with the larger front brakes? I might go that route if they will. We've got some nasty bumps around here, and if you throw in an icey pothole or something...well, I wouldn't mind a little "margin for error".
