04 vs 05 C320 Seat comfort???

I had a 2002 C320 and liked everything about it other than the hard seats. I now own a 2005 E320 CDI which is a great automobile but I miss the response of the C320. I have taken a short test drive on a 2005 C320 and the seats seemed better than my 02 but I would like comparison reactions on seat comfort from someone who has driven the 05 and earlier C320's for several hours at a time.

Seats do feel a bit hard to me.

Our other car, however, is an '03 Volvo V70 T-5 (best "chairs" in the business).

Nothwithstanding, the seats felt quite supportive on my trip to Boston (4 hours). '05s now come with lumbar support in the driver seat.

All MB seats are like that. My buddy complains about the seats on his 2004 E500 also. The seats on my 528i are great.

Response?

"...but I miss the response of the C320." Would you elaborate please? The CDI is not available to test drive in California. I've been thinking about one when they become available in '06 (?).

I like the MB seats but probably because I have the multicontour feature. I sat in a loaner and felt the seat was not very comfortable also.

I'm mainly talking about the steering response. The CDI is a larger car and doesn't feel as sporty to me. Engine response on the CDI is excellent and it doesn't drop off at higher elevations. I was up in the mountains in Northern Arizona a couple weeks ago and the car wanted to fly. I highly recommed it. Like most of my cars which I switch every year I will simply replace it next year when the V6 engines should be available.
