Considered Volvo S60R?

Has anyone considered or test driven this car and if so, any feedback on how it compares to C-class?

ARRR
I didn't test drive it... but it sure is a lot faster. Some people don't like the interior design, but it's actually really handy and driver-oriented. All the switches are within your reach. I like the look too.

A very fun, FAST, and great handling car. Went to El Toro in Irvine, CA for a drive event and drove the S60R and the V70R. Did over 100 mph a few times on the tracks that they had set up. Amazing cars, they definately to not get the recognition that they deserve. In my point of view they are as fun to drive as a new E55. I think that they have 300 hp and you can get a 6 spd or auto in either the wagon or sedan. Brembo's are standard, etc... A *****in car to say the least. I would definately get the wagon version if I could.

Nice car from the specs. volvos still look too stodgy for me. They need a new style direction.

I really like the new S60R but the car doesn't hold value for S***, and are way to expensive new.... but they look really nice!

I think it's a really pretty car, very distinct style and perfect stance just stock! I don't know how it drives but I love the looks for sure and so do a lot of people that do not know cars (and if I tell them it's a Volvo then they start trying to dislike it )

Looked hard at it

Much better performance value than any of the competition, and it's cool to have such a rare car (still have only seen one on the road). However, it gets very pricey when you start adding in options, and lease rates can't compare to MB due to poor residuals (big factor for me). The last straw for me was the huge performance drop between the manual and auto tranny, since I was going with an automatic.
Lastly, I don't know if this has changed, but when I was looking late last year these cars were hard to find, and negotiating down from sticker was much more difficult than with the C-Class.

Yep, everthing you said; including the fact that it's mostly front wheel drive, even on hard launches. That's what holds me back from buying one using the Ford X-Plan...and fact that I hope to buy a used C32 instead.

From a price standpoint, for the last few remaining units, it is a lot more competitive and not that much more than a comparably equipped c230ss. C230 is much better looking (amg look, etc.) although not enough performance to match it while the volvo is somewhat plain looking but offers much more real performance and definitely better interior. Question is long-term reliability and cost of ownership. There are a lot of new technology components in the S60R vs somewhat proven C230SS.

Very nice cars, definitely the best from Volvo to-date. The specs look good on paper but IMO a little overpriced.

the auto is a rip off as you only get 350Nm of torque instead of 400Nm for the manual. Not a driver focussed car but still a lot of fun
