CL203 Sportcoupé 200 Kompressor (M111)
Remotes not working / Fuel gauge zero

Hi all,

I have some issues on my CL203 Sportcoupé (2.0 M111 Kompressor), would be so glad if someone could help me :-)

Both remotes do not work for opening/closing the car
...neither IR nor the regular remote function.
Car starts totally normal and reliable on both. Batteries are new and IR works on both (verified with smartphone camera).
Central locking works totally fine from the inside buttons.
I have also checked fuse #8 in the trunk, it's fine.
FM Radio Reception is perfect, even in my garage, so I doubt it has something to do with the Antenna Amp.
What I did see is a near constant "Infrared signal error: YES" on my diagnostic device (Icarsoft MB 2.0), may that be the cause?

Fuel gauge not working (always showing zero)
I assume this is one of the fuel level sensors, but is there any way to tell which one?
Strangely in my diagnostic device it only shows an error in the KI (Dashboard Control Module) which reads Error P202D-002 - Fuel tank level unreasonable (with a value of 32767l)
When I scan the Engine Control Module though, it shows the correct level of 16l.

Coolant Temp:
On the dashboard, the coolant temp bar always seems to be totally normal (around 80-90), but on my diagnostic device it reads nearly 130°C/266°F.
Coolant level is fine, will check if it's boiling, but why do the readings differ so much?

Guess that's it for the moment, any advice would be much appreciated

Replace the battery on the remotes.
Rear Sam live data on the icarsoft will tell you which fuel level sensor is bad.

You probably have lint or dirt inside the plastic key casings. Clean them.

Alarm, any short or open circuit could cause that. All your issue is related to Rear Sam module. Lived hard times learning it because I checked fuel levels, replacing parts of fuel pump and adapting connectors. and also received a message of code in fuel level. Blowing key alarm fuse many times, opted to raise it to 15 amp, but the next is buy the entire rear SAM. The best can do is replace the entire module with the alarm module (piece at side of the module).

You cannot always trust the actual values on those cheap diagnostic tools.
sometimes the remotes ID number stored in the rear sam becomes corrupt.
disconnect the battery for 1 min to clear the ID and try the remote again.
Basically you have checked everything else needed for the remote to work. Also all doos must be closed for the sam to trigger close signal
