Fast Build?
When I ordered my '05 C320 SS 6sp. on 6/23, they told me that it probably wouldn't be here until mid September. I just got a call from my sales lady who said that it will be here late this week or early next week. Normally, this would be way cool...but I haven't sold my other car yet and will now need to take out a loan. Has anyone else been "pleasently" surprised in this way?

Most dealers lie to you and tell you it's going to take longer so you will give up and buy something off the lot or be pleasantly surprised when it comes early. I checked on a Jeep Wrangler for a friend and they told me 4 weeks to order. A friend order it and they told him 8-12 weeks, it came in 4 but they wanted him to settle for a car in stock but why, 4 weeks and he got exactly what he wanted (except they forgot to put A/C in it so they had to get him another car). Now's a good time to take advantage and throw them a C-Spot or LoveTour coupon and get another $1,500 off.

i too ordered a c320 with a 6-speed manual trans. i ordered the lighting package and sunroof package and also the comand navigation and split fold down rear seat. the salesman told me people don't usually order the later options, so i don't think i will have your good fortune.

all they have to do a reconfigure a car that is set to be built. if the car has not been claimed it might be possible.
mine was an unusual combo of options, citron, pretty much every option except i have a 6 speed. it all depends. good luck to ya!

OK, I finally got the real story: I'm an employee and used an employee code number for my employee discount. Apparently, when they see an order with an employee code number, they automatically move it to the top of the build list. For those of you waiting for cars, please believe that I didn't know they did this...sorry!
Unfortunately, as an employee I'm not eligible for C-Spot or other promotional deals. The employee discount is substantial, though...

i think it may be an over kill to allow friends and family. hell anyone that wanted a car would get in line. this way it allows for people who are buying a car to actually get a chance at one in a decent amount of time.
