Haha!... Mr Sunman and I talked about this last week when he was here in California installing PTS on my C32....

In Austria, I have seen many enthusiast doing whatever they could to get the little orange light on the strip... in Europe cars come with the "Euro strip" that everyone seems to love so much here in the USA!... errrrrrwwww!! LOL.. .and that is a lot more work, cause they have to get wiring harnesses for the lights, country code changes, etc whereas here people just pain them or get the strip and hide the light. I wanted the little orange light plus PTS...however, the Euro strips don't have them AND in parktronic, the only way to get the strips is without the corner light!... MB has in EPC a part No. for the PTS strip WITH the light, however, the part, as Mr Sunman has seen on other projects, was never produced!

I have also seen (back at home --Austria--), people that would show me their windshield wipers and tell me "US edition"... and yet... here I have seen "here" --USA--Mr. CitronC230K_03 and many others tell me "I just upgraded to Euro wipers!"... well now everyone gets the same design!... same for the headlamps and the list goes and goes...

Like Mr Sunman said... we seem we need to transplant everyone from the USA back to Europe... yeah.. I even have a member on the board that tells me "how cool Europe is" and so forth... yeah sure... for a vacation!!!... lol.. the interesting thing is, when I go visit my family there, other friends there; EVERYONE wants me to tell them about the "USA" and the "cool" "California"... I get questions.. "hey do you see movie star every day?... etc etc...

Oh boy!!!...

Question Netherland Setting

I had service B today.
Requested to set country code to Netherlands.
When I picked up the car, I don't hear "chirp".
I looked at MFD and everything is in dutch!
Does anyone know what went wrong???

Sounds like the SA didn't know what you meant and just changed the language on your IC.

haha exactly. The neighbor, from time to time, does that to their television. When the car does find itself to chirp, it sounds cheap.

I agree they must have just changed the language code.

The proper step-by-step instructions are either here or at "the other site"

Either way I would print out those directions and give it to them..That's what I had to do for the dealer to get it right..

I was surprised how loud the beep were though..not too bad but enough to make my neighbors look out their windows when I first had it done..

They changed teh country code of the instrument cluster. You have to tell them to change the country code on the REAR SAM module to Netherlands if you want the chirp.

there is NO dutch in the MFD

The Netherlands setting to activate the annoying chirp is to be found in the alarmsystem in the rear SAM (it is a variable setting in the rear SAM control unit).

Why don't you look at it and then copy one or two of the words you see into this thread for us to evaluate. :p Or you could RTFM on how to change it back.

If I wanted the Stealerership to program my REAR SAM module to Netherland settings then would they just plug the Star Diagnostics/Computer the normal way under the dash on the driver's side/interior) or would they have to physically connect the computer to the actual REAR SAM unit in the trim panel of the trunk?

Chirp with lock settings?

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but had to ask about this. When you have the dealership engage the chirp on the car, I understand that you lose the panic feature. My question is, if you have your car set to open the driver side door first and the passenger doors after a 2nd push of the "unlock" button, does that mean that your car will chirp 3 times (both times you push unlock)?

Just to clarify, here's a scenario:

Push unlock once - unlocks the driver side door / car chirps 3 times

Push unlock 2nd time - unlock passenger doors / car chirps 3 times?

For those of you who have enabled the Netherlends settings, could you please let me know.

Thanks.

drex

Its like that everywhere. Everyone thinks they are in the pit, and the grass is greener somewhere else. Except say, Kansas. They know it sucks, and so do we.

BTW, LA sucks too! J/K!

hahaha, It's like that with all european car enthusiasts. We should start a "Adopt a over-seas friend" program. People get mached up by make and model of vehicle, and trade parts. I can see it now, sponsored by UPS.

I wish I would have remembered this... I was at the dealer today and wanted to try it out.

Would anybody be nice enough to host a sound clip of the chirp sound? I want to enable the sound, but just want to know how it sounds.
Thanks
