Don't get me wrong but it is doable but you have to consider that you have to take apart every door panel, instrument cluster, top switches, comand system, gear shifter, overhead panel, etc... This is time consuming itself. I have done some soldiering work on cell phones. I changed the LED's out once. You have to have a steady hand, tweezers, and a good soldiering station like a Weller with variable temp adjustment. Too hot and that led will burn right off. To me, it's not worth the trouble and coming from a line of cars with green instruments (toyota) , I am quite pleased with the amber benz has.

Mr. CitronC230K_03:

IN addition, lets not forget Mr. sunman's "stealth" (black project) mods...

"Blow-tronik" (installed directly into the car's alarm system: the car DETONATES when a person comes in within 10 ft of the car)

"Eject-tronik" (Driver's and pass. seat ejection seat for emergencies only)

"Fireworks-tronik" (on each othe doors, which Mr sunman has already explained on another thread )

"I don't know what to do next with my car-tronik" (still under development)

We have a soldering station at work, and wasting my lunchhours soldering a few LEDs here and there as each part gets taken apart would be better than wasting time talking about potential mods on MbWorld

The problem is the prep work this guy did. Taking everything apart to compose a parts list, then putting it back together to beable to drive everyday, waiting for the parts, then taking it apart again to finally solder. It'd save the rest of us a lot of time if we could get a parts list.

Mr. Narcissus, amdeutsch:

While I am sure you've already got your reply ... and I am absolutely sure you read the beginning on this thread ... just for FYI (For Your Information) to get the mod done, you WILL need to get a kit that contains all kinds of small light bulbs, led etc.

Also, it was mentioned throughout this thread that you don't have to use the "same" kit from the company chosen on the example below (an LED, is an LED... is like toilet paper made in the USA or Europe... they all work the same way )

Translation of the original thread (posting)
After my research was completed, I placed my order. There are All LEDS in the interior which were exchanged by blue LEDS.

The light change on the AC control unit was a problem since it is equipped with lamps instead of LEDS.

I used white LEDS in the combination display, since the LCD is blue in the background and is not visible with blue/blue numbers.

I am happy with the results, hope you all like it

This project took about (approximately) one week of active work and long preparation time.

There were used aprox 160-170 parts. Everything was purchased with Conrad electronics for approx.. 120 Euros

Be advised (just in case) the ruler in the picture is in Centimiters! (not inches!)

Yes M Wiederman it's not hard to understand that we can buy these leds from hundreds of different places, the reason why I emailed him is to have a list of all leds needed, I don't feel like gutting the whole car to get the ammount of leds needed, put everything back together, order the led and gut it out again...

Mr. CitronC230K_03:

I could not agree with you more!!... but amazingly, I've gotten some messages just clarify the acronyms!!!... omg!... lol

Mr. Narcissus:

I admire your dedication and presevereance on this project... however, beating a dead horse may and will not get you the project you want (if your desire should be that is) off the ground.

I've seen the kits with light bulbs... infact, I have a complete kit at home, I just don't use the bulbs and LEDs on the project in question on this thread (I used them on my R/C Submarine!!! yeah!!! Typhoon class... have seen The Hunt for Red Oktober??? )

IF you want to take your project of the ground, knowing that you in all will need aprox 170 parts.... getting the kit WILL get you ALL the parts you need and after you are done, you will still have some more spare ones left

Cheers!

That is why I am waiting for the guys response, it's not like you can buy a C-class led kit from any electronic store you need to tell them how many surface mounted leds, lamps, , the size, the quantity .etc...

Love your sub kit, looks awesome, I am a fan of models myself, and have been working on building a replica of the Uss Constitution. lot of work, rigging. and no leds

although this is not the one I'm building, I,ve only jsut started rigging the boat, it's the exact same model.

LOL... this particular R/C sub

was built ALL from the ground up... starting up with the hull, it was all hand made, no pre-cut kits were purchased... just plain all good mahematics to scale down it from the original.. fiberglassing, ballast tanks, everything was hand built... (of course, things like the CCD camara was purchased of ebay and so forth... but the entire model is a true one of a kind )

Scale: 1/81 from the original beast .. the overall length for thie model is 83.60"

Sorry for the offtopic... LEDs are to blame for this!!!!

Woa.... lot of work, I'm a patient and meticulous person but I think you're the king of patience.. how long have you worked on this?

Can you control the buyoncy in order to dive?

Back to leds, I re-red your previous post and you said you already bought a kit? you mean a kit that contains like 20 of each diferent leds? Can you let me know where you bought this?

thanks
