Arrow Turned Me On

So today I was on break from work, so i went across the plaza to get my boss some food...I walked by a C230 and of course i eyed it because I have the car, then I noticed the Bi-Xenon's which was the first time I've seen them in person on a C-Class and I was amazed at how great they look. My misson now is to purchase some bi-xenons, but since almost everyone in the forum is from the midwest or west and I live in michigan I don't have any hook-ups and I don't know good places or how it goes about installing the lights. I also want to buy a Comand, but again I have the same dilemma of installing it, i have no idea where or how to do it myself. So if someone can get me started I'd really love it.

I hear that Steve may be coming back to Chicago in October which would be a great time to get your COMAND installed.

The BIX can be purchased from Steve and installed at any Shop if you don't want to handle it.

Thannkk youuu Bill. Just wondering though, if i did go to chicago do i schedual an appointment or something and does he have the Comand's there ready to install so all i do is go there say "Steve you are god" and he install's it and then i pay him a couple of bucks? How much do you think the shop would charge for the BIX install?

And i heard some bullpoop from people saying that putting the BIX on a car that doesnt have it orginally causes problems and you can burnout your headlights, is that true?

The way I did it was pay him a deposit, then once he has his plans down for Chicago, he'll schedule a time and when he completes the install you pay him the rest. I don't think he does the BIX installs though, might want to check with him directly on that.

That is usually when people install Xenon bulbs or kits into the stock headlight units. The Bi-Xenons he installs are the full housings (Same as MB does) so there aren't any problems, all you need to do is have MB set XENON=PRESENT on you car or else they will flicker. It's a computer setting the dealer can do, but some will not.

depends on your dealer. if they are jack @$$es then they can charge you like $80. if they are cool it will be done for free.

Hey C230/PV, you'll love the BIX. i couldnt lhave mine without em. thats why ordered it with BIX from the factory.

Agreed! They were a must when I got the car! We would have ordered one if they had not found the one we bought.

that's why i waited for the 03's and ordered my car. Citron was rare enough, let alone one with BIX.

for my case, it was two hours of labor, which was about 160. All they need to do is lower or remove your front bumper, disconnect and unscrew the old headlights and screw in the ones and you'll be done. Just need to find a dealer to do the setting for you.

Citron is the Color of my Car. C230K is the model, and03 is the year. Citron Green was a Special Order color for the coupe.

Here are pics from the picture thread.

Steve will install bi-xenon's... He also has StarDiagnostic computer so he can set the Bi-Xenon setting to "present". He does everything... I don't think he'll charge install for bi-xenon either, but check with him first.

Thanks!
The night pics were taken by my friend who has a really high resolution digi cam at the last OC meet. The two day pics I took with my crappy digi cam.

Now I'm Mr. 3000 btw.
