Guys, I just got the Kleemann ring added to my car this past Thursday, at AI Design in Tuckahoe, NY. Actually Wyatt, when I called Gil before heading out Thursday morning, he said that someone else had just been in wanting the ring, but Gil told them that I was coming in that day to get it done. Was that YOU trying to ebat me to it? J/K Anyway, I can tell you guys that it DOES make a VERY noticeable difference in performance. I have an Upsolute chip also. I dynoed the car in stock form, and came out with 169HP/179TQ. After the chip, I got 180HP/192TQ. My Buttdyno 2000 says that the pulley increased those last numbers GREATLY, but I will try to set up and official dyno sppointment and get the tru numbers. To anyone wanting to get this done in the NY/NJ/CT area, I would HIGHLY recommend AI Design. Gil was very professional, kept me in the loop, and answered any questions I had. Overall, I am very impressed with their shop, AND with Kleemann's product.
Mark Cummings did the ring and Upsolute and had servere detonation problems. Upsolute had to do some re-programming to address the problem so you may want to check with either Upsolute, Brandon or Mark to see what was done about it. As of the Fashion Island GTG, they haven't done a dyno to verify if the new programming fixed the problem and what the overall results were.
UpSolute
Mark has/had a very agressive chip program designed for no increase in boost pressure. The dyno Vadim sent me showed problems only in the 4500 RPM and up range. UpSolute has been very involved in making a program to work with increased boost set-ups (KLEEMANN or otherwise). After speaking to Rene at UpSolute it sounded as if it were no problem to remove some of the timing advance in the upper range (that they put it) to mitigate the pinking problem.
Many others have the standard UpSolute program and report no such issues.

Hmm... Interesting PINK.
Im affraid Im a bit influenced by my friends in Europe when it comes the speech. Pinking is pinging, knocking or detonation as you say.
Its PURPLE not PINK!!!!

You're a real piece of work...............
I thought you learned your lesson at the Fashion Island GTG. I thought you tried this crap there, and your lack of knowledge actually made people laugh. Didn't Vadim put you in your place?

Actually, Buellwinkle, until you have some sort of "contraption" milled by your local rod shop for $25 and slap it on your car, I think you should shut your mouth. We've already established that you have your doubts about the Kleemann product. That's your right. But every time someone brings up the subject you have to make snide remarks and cut down Brandon and Kleemann and anyone else who has even the slightest leaning in their direction. The product works, it does what it promises, and until you come up with something better, give it a rest already.
Funny how I don't have anything better but from what I gathered at the Fashion Island GTG is that Simon at Evosport said that the alloy pulley was not available yet and was about 2 weeks out (what they said a month ago). So if you prefer to believe Kleemann's vapor pulley over anyone else that's coming out with one that's your perrogative. Until they have them to sell, they don't exist. Actually the alloy pulley I'll be testing is at the platers being annodized this week. Sorry I don't know what to call a device that fits over the existing pulley and held in place by set screws other than a contraption, it was easier than trying to explain it. Nothing negative intended. Actually several other companies do the ring conctraption like Vaeth, H&S and Carlson. The nicest in my opinion is the Vaeth pulley that does an excellent job welding it on and machining it so that it looks like one piece. Of couse it's ridiculously priced at $1,200. If money is no object, personally I would get the Renntech pulley but that's just my opinion.

Whatever
... I am not saying anything about a "vapor" pulley. I am talking about the ring addition to the stock crank pulley, which I HAVE, and which DOES as it is supposed to. By your way of thinking, your part is also "vapor", is it not? I mean, until it is actually produced and installed on a car, presumably yours, then it doesn't actually exist, does it? And I am not comparing Kleemann's product to anyone else's, because I do not have anyone else's and can't make that comparrison. I am only stating what I KNOW from experience with their product. Of course, if money were no object I would probably go with someone else's setup. But, if money were no object I would get an SL500, or or maybe a 360 Modena.

The ring at as you call it is real and can be ordered, never questioned that. The alloy pulley is the one most people are waiting for but is not available, at least from Evosport.
If money was no object I would get the C32 before the SL500 or Ferrari. I need seating for 4, nothing against the other cars!
Does all this anger come out once you own a Kleeman pulley ring? You were never as hostile as DJ-PO before. At least you have a C-Coupe. Have you dynoed your car with the pulley? I still haven't seen an independent verification that a pulley kit of any kind or brand can do what the manufacturer's claims. I've seen dyno reports, just not one that meets the manufacturer's claims. No slam on Kleemann, any brand pulley kit. And for the seat of the pants guys, let's see some track times like Renncpe did! What's the fun of hacking you car to make it faster if you can't show off the numbers!
