The car isn't with me right now. But I know my rent'z didn't get the xenon kit. So I would be guessing Halogen correct?

yeah it halogen if you didnt get xenon. not sure what indicator size is for 2005 halogen lamps.

Anyone know if the W211 also uses the same sizes as you guys for the front and rear turn signals?

Im confident they are, but I cant look it up as my car isnt here yet!

yeah find out the bulb size from you manual or W211 forum, then just buy the bulbs at your local pep boys. they come in all sorts of sizes.

Well people, you be the judge. I bought ALUMINUM colored engine enamel paint and just did it to the rear ones saving me $30, now I'll attack the front ones and I'll post the results in a while.

BTW, I ended up painting them 3 times. At first I was scared that I might paint too much and painted just the tips. Then I painted half the bulb, then I finally got it right painting almost the entire bulb.

Just tape off about 1/4 inch from the base of the bulb so that stays yellow. It may seem like too little but as you can see, it's more than enough.

Now to the front ones....

ive seen two sets of spray painted bulbs before and they didnt blink brite enough for me.

All I am looking for is, Philips - Silver Visions - For my back turn signal lights, and my front turn signal lights. I just need the model #'s, but I can't find them anywere. Any help here please? I don't have xenon's. If you guys know what websites sell them, or should I just go to pep boys and look? Thanks!

dude i cant answer that for you. i dont have halogen fronts. from what i remember PY21W is compatible with 1156, so....
my rear are PY21W because i have euro spec 05 tails. if you have US Spec with 1156 bulbs, then same would apply for the front bulbs:

just dremmel off a nipple and the bulb will fit. the nipples are opposite each other by 180 degrees on 1156/1157. PY21W the are off like 120 degress so you cant screw it in the base easily. if you do get it in, its hard to get out without damaging the socket and/or breaking the bulb to remove.

Citron is right.
PY21W is technically the same as 7507. I believe that 1156 is the same shaft, but different barb locations. To fit the PY21W in the front turn signals you have to grind off the barbs.

i just took off one of them. that way the other holds the base in the socket.

vishal, contrary to what the manual says, the front indicators are NOT 1156 bulbs.

I repeat, the MANUAL IS WRONG.

I couldn't believe it either, but the Stealth Auto 1156 bulbs I got would not work in the front indicator sockets of my '05 halogen set.

I looked at the factory installed amber bulb. It has two filaments. The 1156 is a single filament bulb. So obviously, the 1156 will not work since it is going to be drawing less power than a dual-filament bulb.

On the base of the factory bulb, 2357 is imprinted. I looked it up, 2357 is a newer, higher amperage (and brighter) version of the 1157 bulb, which in turn is a two-filament version of the 1156 bulb.

So what you need for your front indicators is 2357. Unfortunately, after much looking around, it does not look like anyone is making silver coated 2357 bulbs yet.
