Sport Suspension Differences

Does anyone know the difference between the sport suspension and normal C class suspension? Also did all C230 Sports get the sport suspension or are some just bigger brakes?

Some of the early m111 powered C230s didn't have a real sport suspension. Not even sport brakes. Later ones were lowered by about an inch, had heavier sway bars and thicker end links. Most had 2 piston 330mm brakes, a few had 4 piston 330mm brakes. Standard brakes were 300mm.

OK. I have the larger 4 piston front brakes. Would that mean I also have the thicker sway bar & links?

Likely yes. Easy way to check is turn the steering wheel all the way over and look at the bolt that attaches the sway bar end link the strut. If it's an m10 bolt, standard suspension. If it's M12, sport. There's also a reference somewhere online for the color stripes on the front springs but can't be bothered to find it right now.

Yeah I know about the stripes. But thanks I'll take a look.

C180 Kompressor "Sports" Coupe
Hi, I have a C class Sports Coupe C180 Kompressor , and I have the same confusion when ordering suspension parts.
On front axle installed non-sport shock absorber, sport springs (on the non-sport box C180K was not listed on the label, on the sport spring c180k was listed) . End link are non-sport based on what was said about M10 bolt.
On rear axle installed non-sport springs.

Front clippers have 2 pistons.
Sway bar is 21.2 mm as measured

VIN decoder does not say anything about a "sport" package.

Question is: is it "sport" by default? if not, what could go wrong if I've mismatched springs and shock absorber?

Thank you
