Brake pad wear sensor wiring clip bolt?

I should have left it alone, but while doing a brake pad replacement, I tried to unscrew the pad sensor wire retaining bolt. (The sensor wire plugs into a wire held by a bolt to the caliper). The bolt snapped off and I need to replace it and helicoil the caliper. Is that an m6? Bolt length? Any info appreciated. 2003 c230 sport coupe

My one snapped the other week when I was taking off the calipers. I filed the rest down smooth then used a center punch to help center the drill. Then drilled it out. You will also need to tap out the thread. I can't remember if it was a m6 or 8 so I might be lying if I said. As for length i just shortened a bolt that I had. Much cheaper than buying a new caliper.

do you really need to replace it? Any other way of fastening it? its just to hold it in place a bit. Not really a critical circuit. With cars this age...

Unfortunately there's nothing in the area that I can use to clip the wire, or even use a steel zip tie. I did get lucky and manage to find the remainder of the bolt and measure it. The replacement bolt for my car is a m6x1x16. Unfortunately, my local hardware store won't have that, so I'll be going to mcmaster.com and buying a package of stainless bolts for $10, assuming I don't have something like that lying around.
