Hi, today i wanted to start my C240 2001 2.6, after 4 days of rain and it started normally but there was nothing on dashboard, instrument cluster didn't go on. Everything thing else was fine.
I turned off the car tried again and still the same. The car was running perfect but the dash was dead, no light on it, nothing.
So i opened the fuse box on driver side, there was some moisture, checked all fuses all were ok. A little bit wet but not burned. So i tried again and when I put my key not turning every light on dash lighted up. Gauges went to real places, so i started the car, the rpm and fuel needles jumped on real position, car running as before.
So i turned it off, suddenly my dashboard started popping errors esp, sns, no oil in engine, visit workshop etc. All lamps were glowing.
I removed the key and the dash calmed, everything powered down, showing only my km, except fuel and rpm needles stuck on the position as if the car is on. Called my mechanic he told me to remove my ground cable from battery and dry everything. And when I finish should connect the battery and that the needles would drop.
But it didn't happen they stand on the same position as before.
I finished the drying connected the battery, unlocked my car remotely, dashboard was off, indoor light on, i inserted the key and nothing happened, no light on dash, instruments stuck rpm at 100, fuel at 1/2. As before.
I turned the key to 2nd position the A/C was working, radio also, fuel pump made the zzz noise as always, front lights turned on, turned the key And the car would start. No click, no sound nothing. No sign of power shortage everything normal except it won't start.
So i checked every fuse, Inside, in the trunk and under the hood no fuse appears to be blown. I checked the battery it is full. Reconnected every cable in fuse box under hood.
But no result. Any help?

Working:
front lights, long light (but only when I pull the lever, when I push they don't go on), blinkers, all buttons in the middle console, radio, A/C, lock/unlock remotely, trunk pops up. Indoor lights work.
Not working:
Wiper's, puss on long light lever, dashboard won't come on, fuel and rpg needles stuck, car doesn't make a sound after starting it.

Any tips? Tomorrow I'm going to check if there is power in fuses. Sorry but I don't have an Code Reader.

I guess the gum on the door doesn't do the job, it was not soaking it was like condensation.
Would love to but I'm in Croatia.

 

After checking every fuse, relay, battery. I removed the dashboard and tried to start the car and it started without the dashboard.
I disassembled the dashboard, did nothing on it, assembled it and connected back. Started the car perfectly.
