F8 Fuse Blown
Fairly new member here and pretty excited to start working on my 2005 C230 Kompressor since it's been sitting for 2 years.
I just finished fixing the IR on the driver side door with the DIY on here which exciting because I can now unlock and lock my car but I have to be within 10 feet to do so.
So wondering if anyone has any experience with F8 fuse popping as soon is you replace it. I know this means a short so I am assuming based off the diagrams the short can be from
1. Amplifier Module
2. Window Antenna
3. Alarm Signal Horn
Should I start with signal horn or should take off the headliner and look there first? Is there an easier way to determine which of these could be the culprit for the short. I am hoping once this is fixed that the key fob works from further away. Side note: the rear window was replaced a years ago when someone broke it but I don't recall having issues with the key fob or radio. Yes the radio has no signal currently.
I will be doing some mods on the vehicle looking forward to sharing some of them with you guys.
Thank you

The Alarm horn hold a lot of the electronics .Its a know fact that they are a drain on the system . So i would start there first . Try and get a replacment battery for alarm box before you start opening it up .Also you need to fill on your profile, so members know what car you have along with the type of engine etc.

Thank you Trevor...
I went ahead and unplugged the alarm and replaced the fuse and it works! Now my fob works perfectly and my radio works!
Glad it wasn't the antenna!
Now I am not sure if I want to replace the alarm battery at this moment I think I had a rodent inside while the car sat for a few years not sure if there's any wires from the alarm that are chewed up.
Thanks again for your help!
