Bottomed out front spoiler on '05 SS!

I pulled into a friends driveway, and from the looks of the incline to get up from the street and over the sidewalk, I thought I might bottom out the spolier, so I went in at a bit of an angle. On the way out later, I did hear a brief scrape. I got home and checked it out and sure enough there was a devent scrape right at the center on the bottom of the spolier (granted you have to look under and up to see it). At first I was pissed, then I figured that probably won't be the first time this happens. Once I cleaned it up and then put a liitle NXT was on it this morning, it didn't look so bad.

Has this happened to anyone else? is it just an '05 thing due to the new body kit? is this something i should expect more of?

U'll get that often especially after u lower your car with coilover . I only has 10cm clearance for the front bumper.

Ive scraped my '05's front a few times on driveways, etc. It's just something your going have to deal with and keep an eye out for. For the most part, the scrapes will be on the bottom (unless you completely miss a large dip) and no one will see it, except for you when you crawl underneath the car to look at it.

i've even scraped my '03s front, so i can imagine the '05s must be even harder. it's cause a lot of the damn roads in FL are curved to prevent flooding, so you gotta be cautious EVERYWHERE.

Missing my beloved Benz
You are only asking for trouble when you lower a car! There is a reason why cars, trucks, SUVs, etc are the height they are off the road! jeez, shut up and take it since you are stupid.

scraping will soon become second nature to you..

Mind you the scrapes are on the bottom so they aren't even noticable..

Don't worry about it, it's a benz bumper afterall, won't crack or watsoever, I've hit it against the road and didn't feel nice, it still hold nicely.

I just scraped my front spoiler this weekend and it's really pissing me off when i clean it cause i could see the scrape marks. I know you can't see it but just that thought of having a damn scrape marks on the bottom of the spoiler really ruined my day. I was pulling up to a curb and it looked like i would clear it and wouldn't you know it...it was higher that i thought.

Have any of you guys used a touch up paint to hide it a bit?

From what I understand of metallic touch up paint you just about have to shake the **** out of it in order to get a decent mix. It almost requires a modified blender. :p

Aside from the questionable color match (not so noticeable way down there) damage to the plastic surface is also a problem. An impact with the curb or whatever often leaves the surface rough, or even gouged with a raised edge. In the past I have just used touchup paint, but could the repair area be sanded and filled or feathered out if I wanted to do better?

don't take nicedesboy's comment seriously. he's presumably mentally ill with a syndrome that causes him to think that he has a C55 for $25k while it is already in need of service B.

Not that I would ever side with Nicedeboy but I have this to share.....
1. It is possible to buy a C55 for $26k like he said..... I saw 2 that had be totalled... both with salvage titles $27k and $32k......
2. It is possible to need service B at this time... There is a guy from Philly who puts 40K miles per year on his car.(so he said).... I think he uses it as a taxi.... so maybe Nicedeboy drives in circles a lot and has over 24k miles

Haven't you guys figured out this guy is full of ! If I were a betting guy, I would bet he does not even own a MB, let alone a $26k C55. If he did, since he has had so many people have called him out on this claim, he would produce some kind of documentation substantiating his claim, if for no other reason that to shut us naysayers up.
