Washed engine for c230 Kompressor 2004
I washed the engine and engine bay for my c230 kompressor 2004, after washing it at a commercial car wash where it was stated that engines were being washed. I started the car 5 minutes after the wash with the AC. I drove away and headed home on my way the instrument cluster displayed "Visit workshop, battery / alternator" after 6 mins the error stopped appearing, a few hours later i drove the car an i heard some cracking noise behind the car stereo , the AC flap was not directing the AC flow to the intended direction, i started feeling the AC in unselected regions. I selected the straight position but was feeling the AC from the leg and face, instead of just face.
I tried to drive out today and the car did not start , the battery was completely dead and currently being charged, i still hear the cracking noise , what could be wrong with the car.

There may be some alternator damage caused by the water but if the problem went away after the car has dried off a bit then you're probably good to go. Another possibility is that the battery simply died from age. Batteries are wear items.
Sounds like one of your HVAC stepper motors has failed. Common problem. The timing of this problem is purely coincidental. Be sure to update the plastic linkages for the motors if you haven't done so already. Also it may be wise but more expensive to replace other motors that are about to go.
